Polls Open for Provincial By-Election in Fort McMurray-Lac La Biche

EDMONTON – Chief Electoral Officer, Glen Resler, confirms the polls for the Fort McMurray-Lac La Biche By-Election are now open. Election Day poll locations are open today between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m.
Canadian citizens who are at least 18 years of age on Election Day are eligible to vote if they are an ordinary resident of the Fort McMurray-Lac La Biche electoral division.
Every elector is assigned a polling location based on their ordinary place of residence and electors may only vote at their assigned polling location. To find your assigned polling location, visit www.elections.ab.ca (click on “Where Do I Vote?”).
If you are registered to vote at your current address, you do not need to show your identification to vote. If you need to update your registration, you will need to provide ID with your name and physical address. A list of authorized ID can be found at www.elections.ab.ca (click on “ID Required to Vote”).
The unofficial count will occur once the polls close at 8:00 p.m. Each poll is counted by hand by election officers responsible for that poll. As counts are completed, results will be posted on the Elections Alberta’s website, under “Election Results”.
