Chief Electoral Officer will not seek reappointment

EDMONTON – The Chief Electoral Officer has announced that disclosure of the results of investigations under the Election Finances and Contributions Disclosure Act (the Act) will appear on the website (www.elections.ab.ca) commencing on January 31, 2013. Legislative change increases openness and transparency in the New Year

EDMONTON – The passage of the Election Accountability Amendment Act, 2012 will provide Albertans with greater insight into political financing in the province. Amendments allow the Chief Electoral Officer to release the outcome of investigations where violations have occurred.
